Charlie Amato

Charlie Amato is the Chairman and co-founder of SWBC. With more than 35 years of experience in all aspects of insurance operations, underwriting, and product development, Charlie is known in the business community for his innovative, relationship-building approach.

Throughout his career, he has received recognition and several awards, including inductions into both the Sam Houston State University's (his alma mater) College of Business Hall of Honor and the San Antonio Business Hall of Fame. He was also named one of the San Antonio Business Journal's "Most Influential San Antonians." In 2009, Charlie received the Beta Gamma Sigma Medallion for Entrepreneurship.

Charlie is also an active participant in various charities and corporate leadership activities. In addition to serving as the 2012 General Campaign Chair for United Way, he is proud to have been appointed by Texas Governor Rick Perry to the Texas State University System Board of Regents (term expires February 1, 2013), currently serving as the Chairman. In addition, he is a member of the Business and Community Advisory Council for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and the Governor's Business Council, the Chairman of the Lone Star Capital Bank Advisory Board, Chairman of the University of the Incarnate Word Board of Trustees, and the past Chairman of the Children's Miracle Network. He is currently a member of the Cancer Therapy & Research Center Board of Governors, the San Antonio Spurs Foundation, the Alamo Bowl, and the United Way Executive Committee. Charlie is also part owner of the San Antonio Spurs.




Gary Dudley

Gary Dudley co-founded SWBC in 1976 where he serves as its President and co-owner. For more than three decades, Gary has been instrumental in developing SWBC's business model and dedication to customer service

A graduate of Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas, where he received a bachelor of business administration and received the 2004 Distinguished Alumni Award, Gary has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and has guided the development of SWBC's technology, administration, delivery systems, and product development.

Gary is also known for his devotion to building and maintaining relationships at his alma mater and in the San Antonio community. In 2008, Gary was awarded the Beta Gamma Sigma Medallion for Entrepreneurship, and in 2006, he was inducted into the College of Business Hall of Honor - Sam Houston State University and into the San Antonio Business Hall of Fame. In addition to being part owner of the San Antonio Spurs, he currently serves on the President's Council and College of Business Administration Advisory Board at Sam Houston State University and is a member of the Development Board at the University of the Incarnate Word. He also devotes many hours giving back to the community, serving as a board member of the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation, the San Antonio Spurs Foundation, and the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce.
